Volunteer
Volunteers are the heartbeat of any charity, but particularly for small charities like LMF.

Here are just some of the ways that you can help benefit the causes we support.
Public speaker?
We could arrange for you to do a presentation about us in a school or university!
Social media
Help run our social media channels and keep our supporters up to date!
Wave the LMF flag!
Help up us by raising money by promoting us at local events and fairs
Help out in the office
We could always do with a hand in the office, wrapping raffle prizes or counting money
Are you a writing wizard?
If you like creative writing, why not help us out by writing articles about what we're up to?
An extra hand can always help!
Whether it's photographing an event, distributing collection tins, there's always something to do!
Former LMF volunteer Nick Ransom speaks about his experience volunteering and how it has helped shape his career.
"The times I spent volunteering at the Lisa May Foundation were honestly some of the best times of my life. I've made great friends and made some great memories and not just that, I improved skills which has benefited my career.

I am incredibly passionate about media production and love creating content such as photos, videos, graphics, websites and articles. LMF was a perfect platform for me to practise my art and I helped the Foundation make a number of videos over the years covering fetes, football matches, skydives and more, also producing a number of documentaries of the Foundation's chosen charities.

Investing time into volunteering meant I made valuable contacts and also expanded my portfolio. I recently accepted a job as a social media assistant at BBC Children in Need. Without my experience at LMF, I know I simply wouldn't have got the job. It was volunteering that stood out and I'd encourage more young people to do it.

But remember, whatever age you are and whatever free time you have, your contribution will change lives. Please just help out whenever you can - volunteering isn't a full time commitment. It's about having fun and making a difference and gaining new experiences that will stand out on any CV.
Nick's volunteering story

This video tells the story of Nick's time with us and why volunteering can really help both individual volunteers and the charity.
"The shy but skilled Nick that came to volunteer, has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years. Nick is now confident enough to advise us on how we can use social media to our advantage. He has been a pleasure to have around and I think its fair to say that both Nick and the charity have grown together" - Cheryl D'Cruz
