Kennel Lane Forest School

Kennel Lane is a school for children in Bracknell with a diverse range of learning needs, including some with complex medical conditions. Students from 2 -19 attend the school and have access to a wide range of lessons.

We helped fund the build of a Forest School, a unique learning space that included an outdoor Willow Classroom inside the safe confines of an unused part of the schools property which is now accessible to all pupils. The initial build of the project was completed and since then the students have taken lessons outside and even grown their own vegetables to sell to parents.

The project at Kennel Lane was a heartwarming experience that we got involved with from the beginning and saw right through to the very satisfying end, when the children got out into the safe confines of the school grounds and began to explore all the Forest School had to offer. They even started to reap the rewards of their home grown vegetables!

However the most rewarding part of any job is when you get feedback from the teachers who see first hand the difference that this welcome addition made to the students and their education.

Be sure to read the letter below from Chris Ward the Forest School teacher.
We also attended a number of their school christmas dinner parties as guests and made several cheque presentations towards the garden and providing kit to use in the garden such as, outdoor wear and garden tools.
